Nea Ekklesia (New Church)

The Nea, the "New Church" which was built by Basileios I between 876 and 880, marks the beginning of monumental middle byzantine architecture. It existed until the end of the empire.

Download the Nea Ekklesia.

Hagia Eriene

The church of the Holy Peace (Hagia Eirene) was built in the fourth century at the place where the old church of the bishop of Byzantium stood before the refoundation of Constantine the Great. The church was destroyed by fire in 532 and then rebuilt. Its present shape goes back to a restoration after an earthquake in 740. The Hagia Eirene formed a complex together with the Hagia Sophia, the Hospital of Sampson in between and some other subsidiary building, and it was served by the same clergy. Though the Hagia Eirene was always one of the greatest churches of Byzantium, it is mentioned rarely by the sources in later times.

Download the Hagia Eriene.

Church of the Holy Apostles

The Church of the Holy Apostles was first built in the fourth century, in a cruciform shape and attached to the round mausoleum of Constantine on the highest hill of the newly founded city. The church of the Holy Apostles had at least the same overall size as the Hagia Sophia; was erected on the groundplan of a greek cross, had one dome with windows over the centre and four domes without on the cross arms (Not possible with the gaming engine of sims, I could only get one and still make it look similar).

Dont wait, download the Church of the Holy Apostles.

NOTE: Information about the Church was taken from http://www.byzantium1200.com/. Still if your downloading please download without using a download manager, still havent fix that problem as yet.

Hagia Sophia

This is the pride of the Orthodox Church (of the Eastern Roman Empire), the Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom). The present church was mainly erected between 532 and 537 during the reign of Justinian. In its architectural form, it tries to reconcile the traditions of longitudinal basilicas and central vaulted churches. The main dome which had a diameter of over 30 m was the biggest church dome until the fifteenth century.

Download and enjoy the Hagia Sophia.

NOTE: (Information quoted from http://www.byzantium1200.com/) and if you are downloading dont use the download manager, it wont work. Going to fix that problem soon.
